Vision & Mission:

This Symposium is aimed to provide an opportunity to explore the hidden aptitude of the budding engineers and scientists.

Participating students will be able to develop their interests and awareness about the contemporary industrial and research trends in areas of science and technology. They will be able to make them up to date their technical knowledge and will be able to enhance their communication and presentation skills.

Eminent personalities from academia and industry have been invited to deliver keynote address in each technical session. The event includes paper presentations, panel discussions and model displays.

Dr. Farid Ahmad, Postdoctoral Fellow, LMU Munich, Germany
Farid attended LMU, Munich where he studied Hematopoietic Stem Cell Biology and Cancer and earned a Doctorate degree in 2007. He also attended Patna University where he studied Zoology and earned a Masters degree in 1999.Farid's core expertise includes Stem Cell Biology, Hematopoietic models and Microarray technology and Leukemia mode.

Dr. Syed Waris Shere
Syed Waris Shere was born in Patna and attended University of London and Technische Hochschule, Aachen, Germany. His work on critical issues of International Affairs has been published globally. He is the author of eight books including his most latest publication "THE STRUGGLE FOR PEACE". His main interests are Emerging International Order, Security and the Prospects for East - West relations and Dilemmas in Policy - Making for Education. Professor Shere was also nominated for the "ORDER OF CANADA”. Has written 8 books on Applied mathamatics and International relations. Mehmood has been with Unilever since 1982 and has worked in wide areas of the business; Marketing, Exports, Procurement, Business Development and Innovation. Out of 22 years in Unilever, 10 years have been in pioneering new business in places like Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia and North Korea, along with developing new portfolios in China and other countries in East Asia. He is currently the Global Leader for Unilever Innovation Process Development which has added yet another dimension in his expertise in Unilever Business of accelerating business growth through Innovation by following common global processes and systems.

Jessica Wallack, Assistant Professor, University of California
She is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California, San Diego. Wallack's research interests
are split between Latin America and India. She recently co-edited "Federalism and Economic Reform: International Perspectives". Wallack currently coauthors a bi-weekly column in the Financial Express with Nand Kishore Singh, a former member of the Planning Commission of India.
She also has served since March 2006 as an Advisory Board Member of the Wilder hill Global Clean Energy Index (NEX). Wallack served as a consultant to the Asian Development Bank in 2002, was an employee of the Inter-American Development Bank in 1998 and 1999, and in 1997 and 1998 Wallack worked at the World Bank as a researcher for Joseph Stiglitz during Stiglitz's tenure as World Bank Chief Economist. Wallack earned a B.A. at Harvard University in Government, and a Ph.D. at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in Political Economics.

Dr. M J Warsi
M J Warsi, an Indian linguist and researcher, teaches in the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages and Literatures at Washington University in St. Louis, USA. A gold medalist from Aligarh Muslim University and a West Bengal Urdu Academy award holder, he has also authored two books helping understand the efficacy of the common contact in languages. M J Warsi stands as a true icon, scholar and leader of the Indian community at the University campus. He has been the Indo-Aryan Language and Linguistics professor in the South Asian Studies Department for the past many years. Dr. Warsi besides his academic commitment he has also been very actively involved with the campus community. His contributions have not gone unidentified. In recent past, while teaching at UC Berkeley, he has been named an "unsung hero" by the students of UC Berkeley for his "extraordinary contribution" in academic and personal matters. Professor Mohammad Warsi has been chosen as a role model by undergraduates of the Berkeley-based University in a survey conducted to identify those staff persons who went beyond their duty to assist students in academic and personal matters.

Parvin Shere
Writer and Artist, Canada
Parvin Shere is an artist, poet and musician. She formally developed her talent of paintings at the University of Manitoba, Canada, Fine Arts Program. Her extensive travel throughout Europe and particularly in developing countries triggered in her a need to enlighten her audience about the dualistic nature of this world. The oppressed has a profound effect on her work. Her visual art has been shown extensively in Canada, U.S.A., England, France and India. Her work is displayed in many prominent public and private collections internationally. She has received several awards for her paintings.
She was one of five nominees honored during the prestigious "Woman of Distinction Awards" for her contribution in Art, Culture and Heritage in Winnipeg, Canada. She has composed CD'S of poetry and music for UNICEF to help raise funds for underprivileged children globally. In addition to organ and banjo, she plays the sitar, one of the most ancient and difficult instruments. She currently serves on the Film Classification Board in Manitoba, Canada.

Dr. Prabhat Kumar
Dr. Kumar has over a decade of working experience promoting and training farmers and scientists in the area of Integrated Pest and Crop Management in South Asia, SE Asia and Near Eastern counties. he has a Master Degree in Agriculture Systems from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok and a PhD from Institute of Plant Diseases and Plant Protection, University of Hanover, Germany. In 2002 During his PhDs in Germany, he actively backstopped and supported EU funded projects in China and Vietnam for 3 month/year until 2006.He is one of pioneers who took the concepts of the IPM developed around single crop rice to the complexes of vegetables crops (since 1996); developed, demonstrated sustainable solution of various plant protection problems ranging form the Eggplant borer in Bangladesh to Tomato yellow leaf curl virus in North Philippines.

She is the Bombay Bureau Chief at Business Week, a position she assumed in 1996. She is responsible for covering business, economics and politics.In 1999 she received the Outstanding Story Award from the South Asian Journalists’ Association, New York, for her Business Week cover feature on Indian Institutes of Technology. She has also made contributions to the “25 Ideas for a Changing World” (August 26, 2002) cover story and has written “India’s Reliance” (June 25, 2001) cover story on the geopolitical changes since September 11, 2001.Prior to joining Business Week, Ms. Kripalani was an associate editor at Worth magazine. She was also a reporter as well as a deputy chief of reporters for Forbes. In addition, Ms. Kripalani worked at Business World magazine in Bombay. Ms. Kripalani gained political experience as the New Jersey Deputy Press Secretary for the political campaign of Steve Forbes, the 1996 Republican candidate for the U.S. Presidential elections. She received two bachelor’s degrees from Bombay University as well as her master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University. Ms. Kripalani has made several TV appearances, recently being an interview with PBS regarding foreign direct investment in Indian media.
